How to fold napkins
Common napkin folding methods include the triangle fold, accordion fold, pyramid fold, and utensil pocket fold.
**Triangle Fold**
Lay a napkin flat and fold it in half diagonally to form a triangle. Then, fold the two side corners toward the center, followed by the three vertices of the triangle inward. Finally, fold the inner layer outward and place the folded napkin on the left side of the table.
**Accordion Fold**
Fold the napkin into a rectangle. Starting from one side, pleat the napkin like an accordion until you reach the other side. Hold one end and place the napkin into a glass, then fan out the part extending above the rim.
**Pyramid Fold**
Lay the napkin flat. If the napkin tends to collapse, lightly starch and iron it beforehand.
Fold the napkin diagonally, then rotate it so the triangle’s apex faces you.
Fold the right corner of the triangle down to align with the apex, ensuring a clear central crease. Repeat with the left corner. The napkin should now resemble a diamond shape.
Flip the napkin over so the open side faces away from you.
Fold the diamond in half to form a triangle with the apex pointing downward.
Fold the napkin along the central crease from left to right.
Stand the napkin upright like a tent. If it feels too soft to stand, lightly starch and iron it again.
**Utensil Pocket Fold**
Materials needed: a napkin.
Fold the napkin in half by aligning the top two corners with the bottom two corners (folding it toward yourself).
Fold it in half again, so it is now one-quarter of its original size.
Adjust the napkin so the open corner faces the upper left. Fold the top layer diagonally downward.
Flip the napkin over carefully, so the previously upper-left corner is now at the lower right.
Divide the napkin into three equal sections. Fold the right third toward the center, then fold the left third over it to cover the right side.
Tuck the left corner into the pocket formed on the right to secure it firmly.
Flip the napkin to the front to reveal a neat pocket for utensils.
These are several common napkin folding methods. I hope this information is helpful to you.
